Inverters
An inverter is commonly used for offering backup power to a wide range of electrical appliances during a power cut. The inverters or ups can be used for offering backup power to PCs, TV, electrical appliances, industrial lighting fixtures etc. Home-based inverters are essential to keep power cuts at bay within apartments and housing societies. The power inverters which we are offering as a part of this sub category operate using pure sine wave technology. The inverters for home appliances which we are offering online have high surge load capacity and offer thermal as well as reverse phase protection. These inverters do not make a humming noise and have a protection from high charging protection and deep discharges. We have models which are equipped with a selector switch for normal/UPS mode.Inverter Battery
Inverter battery is also known as UPS battery. It is a lead acid rechargeable battery used with home Inverters. The main component of battery is the lead inside it. Higher lead ensures better battery performance and quality. Lead acid batteries are not sealed and Maintenance free hence it requires water top up once in 3-6 monthInverters and Home UPS Price
Price of Inverters depends upon Inverter Capacity (VA rating) and technology type. Most of the Inverter price starts from ₹ 3600 and goes up to ₹ 331500. When an Inverter Capacity (VA) is higher than the cost of inverter will be Higher, Similarly, if it is a pure sine wave inverter which is indication of latest technology inverters, the prices will be higher compared to square wave inverters. How it works
An Inverter requires external lead acid battery to store power. When there is electricity available, it charges the battery, when power fails, it supplies electricity from the battery. That’s how you get 24*7 uninterrupted power from inverter in your home and office.
How to Select Inverter for Home?
If you are planning to buy Inverter for home use for the very first time, it is important for you to choose the electrical appliances that you wish to run when there is power failures. Selection of inverter depends upon consumption of power and backup time when electricity is not available. You should consider consumption of power for these electrical appliances
- LED lights
- Ceiling fans
- Television
- Refrigerator
- Washing Machine
- Laptops
- Desktop
- LaserJet Printers
Types of Inverter
As far as the technology is concerned, there are two types of Inverter:
- Pure Sine Wave
- Square Wave
Pure Sine wave Inverter is the latest technology product and a square wave is the baseline product. A pure sine wave inverter does not create humming noise from fans and it will not let sensitive appliances heat up such as a laptop adapter. Pure Sine wave UPS is considered to be the best quality UPS.
What kind of Inverter Should i go for?
Technology | Technology will affect your inverter efficiency, Cost and is most important factor to buy inverters |
Price | Before you purchase Inverters, Compare Inverter prices based upon Technology, Energy efficiency, Warranty, New Features available in inverters |
Efficiency | A higher energy efficiency inverter consumes lesser power, Saves Electricity |
Warranty | Inverter life spam is 10-12 years, Higher warranty helps to ensure repair costs are covered without spending additional money. |
Backup Time
Backup time of an inverter depends on the number of batteries an inverter supports. Inverter are rated in VA (Volt Ampere). 12 V inverter supports single battery as all lead acid batteries are usually 12V design. Similarly, 36 V inverter system requires 3 numbers of battery to be connected in series.
DC Voltage | Number of batteries required |
12 V | 1 – Battery |
24 V | 2 – Battery |
36 V | 3 – Battery |
48 V | 4 – Battery |
96 V | 8 – Battery |
If an inverter system is connected with 150 Ah lead acid battery, the backup time will be around 3:00 hours if power consumption is 400 watts.
What safety precautions do I need to follow while using Inverters?
- Never leave children unattended around inverters.
- Keep the area around inverter clean and free of combustible and flammable material
- Keep Inverter in UPS Mode for using Desktops and power sensitive equipment otherwise it should be in ECO mode.
- Follow the Brand Guideline recommended for maintenance schedule
Inverter Warranty
Generally, a home UPS or Inverter comes with 2 years manufacturer warranty and 10 to 12 years of lifespan. Most of the brands offers 2 years warranty on home Inverters against manufacturing defects and bad workmanship.
